The overlapping of project management and workflow patterns
Understanding how to realize that workflow patterns within project management overlap is not only fascinating but impactful.
In understanding how one's workflow impacts this concept of project management it is crucial to understanding that optimizing said workflow, will have a lasting impact on productivity. I know for a fact that in daily life I have many workflows and different tools I use for my own project management whether it comes to doing course work in my classes or for my photographer position in the Quinnipiac University Department of Marketing and Communications. In my own life for my courses and in any freelance photography that I do, I mainly have my set standard workflow practice that I go by everytime, using different software tools on my Macbook but when it comes to my job, there is a set workflow.
I think those two different workflow paths show how project management can greatly differ. At work I am told how to do specific things and we use various softwares that allow everything to be streamlined and in my personal life I use many of those same tools but the ways that I use them differs slightly. There is a big difference for me in how being told what to do and doing things that way is different than just doing things how I normally do them and just operating in my own way.
Everyone will always have a different way of showcasing how they work and what workflow pattern works best for them but it is important to understand that with someone's personal life and with their work life, those patterns will be different. In the creative realm and in creative services, those workflow patterns will be different but I have found that they do cross-over well and can be used in many different ways and aspects of life.
Whatever way anyone decides to make decisions and do work in their careers or personal life, it is important to understand that they will most likely cross over and to have a functional project management system, the inner workflow patterns will need to be the best they can be.
